About RMIT University
postgraduate and vocational pre-university courses. RMIT is a world leader in Art and Design, Architecture, Education, Engineering, Development, Computer Science and Information Systems, Business and Management, and Communication and Media Studies.
A global university
We have three campuses in Melbourne, two campuses in Vietnam, a research and innovation hub in Spain and programs offered through over 140 partners across Asia and Europe, including Singapore Institute of Management and our latest partnership in India – the BITS (Pilani) RMIT Higher Education Academy.
You’ll learn from the best
At RMIT we pride ourselves on being connected to experts in your industry. Through Work-Integrated Learning opportunities, mentors and collaborative projects, our students make industry connections and gain the skills that make employers sit up and take notice.
Hands-on and practical learning
Our internships, placements and work experience opportunities enable our students to put theory into practice, alongside some of the world’s leading organizations. Through practical learning, you’ll gain the skills that directly relate to the needs of your industry, whether you’re a communication design student working with a brief from a real client, a media student working in a television studio, a business student on an internship in a leading organization, or a mechatronics engineering student building a race car.
International excellence
RMIT is a QS 5-Star rated institution, ranked as one of the world’s leading universities with a strong research record and state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure.
Vibrant student community and support
We support you during every step of your RMIT journey. We have over 100 student clubs, societies and collectives to choose from, which are a great way to make friends, develop new skills and connect with people who share your interests. Our support services and networks place your wellbeing at the forefront, from helping you find accommodation and job opportunities to ensuring you are equipped to achieve your study goals, while staying happy and healthy.
Living in Melbourne
Melbourne is a great place to live and study. Our main campus is in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, with easy access to public transport, and surrounded by a range of accommodation options, multiple shopping, sport and art precincts, parklands and open spaces, and lots of great places to eat.
Royal connection
RMIT was awarded royal patronage by Queen Elizabeth II for its educational service to the Commonwealth and contribution to the war effort. RMIT remains the only higher education institution in Australia with the right to use the prefix “Royal” and the Monarchy’s coat of arms.
Since its founding in 1887, RMIT’s motto has been “A skilled hand, a cultivated mind”. Visit our website to find out how we continue that tradition of relevant and industry-focused education and research.
